HEALTHY EYESIGHT




Sense of sight is one of the most beautiful thing that God has given us. Our ability to see gives us an experience to visually watch everything around us grow and develop. But now, our hectic schedule and unhealthy lifestyle is making us prone to many kinds of diseases. And majority of these kinds of diseases are related to poor eyesight or loss of vision.
Taking proper care of eyesight is a very important aspect of life which we generally neglect. But the problem is neglecting these issues on later stages can cause irreplaceable damage leading to loss or partial loss of eyesight.
We now a days see that children at early stages are made to wear glasses. This is not because they want to but it’s because their unhealthy lifestyle. Watching TV for long hours, of going through computer for long hours is one of the root reasons behind this problem.
Follow these tips to keep your eyes healthy:
1. Eat for Good Vision
Eating habits tells a lot about how our body is likely to function. Eating junk food degrades our body leading to poor eyesight. There should be proper amount of iron in our food intake along with Vitamin D. these foods should be preferred.
• Green, leafy vegetables such as spinach, kale, and collards
• Salmon, tuna, and other oily fish
• Eggs, nuts, beans, and other non-meat protein sources
• Oranges and other citrus fruits or juices
2. Quit Smoking
Smoking is injurious to not only our lungs but our eyesight as well. It damages our optical nerve and promotes formation of cataract.
3. Wear Sunglasses when out in Sun.
Wearing a UV protective sunglasses is advised to wear when out in the sun because sun releases harmful radiation which can cause permanent eye damage. This can be avoided as specially designed UV protective sunglasses block away harmful radiations of the sun and protecting our eyes against it.
