Diabetes Diet and Food Tips

Diabetes is a complex group of diseases with a variety of causes. People with diabetes have very high glucose content in their blood, and this situation is also termed as hyperglycemia



Diabetes means disorder of metabolism of sugar, the way the body uses digested food and convert it into energy. In digestive tract, carbohydrates are broken down. Sugars and starches found in many foods is converted into glucose. It is a form of sugar that enters the bloodstream. A hormone present in our body“insulin” spread throughout the body, absorb glucose and eventually use it produce energy. Diabetes develops when the body doesn’t make enough insulin or is not able to use insulin effectively, or both the situations
If enough insulin is not produced, or the body neglect the insulin present, glucose level start increasing in our blood which should have been absorbed by cells, leading to diabetes. Prediabetes is a condition in which blood glucose level start increasing which reflect average blood glucose levels but not high enough to be diagnosed as diabetes. In diabetes, the body is deprived of energy in the form of glucose which is present in blood but isn’t absorbed.
Over time, high blood glucose damages and can lead to many life threating diseases or amputation of limbs. Other problems which come along with diabetes include increased easy target of other diseases, loss of mobility as you age, depression, and pregnancy complications. No one is certain what starts the processes that cause diabetes, but scientists say that maybe genetic problem or environmental causes this.
